In my part of the world (America, but this is also how it is in other places), we don't get a broad liberal arts education until after graduating from 12 year schools and starting 4-year college/university degrees. In this part of the world, about one-half of classes in are related to what is called a "major," the other half are devoted to a range of other subjects, such as the ones listed above.

Guess which book finally made it's way to the front of my reading queue?!
Finished WoT and other books that were in front! I read the prologue, and it looks like I'm diving deep into another rabbit hole.
Wish me luck!

My brother and I are traveling to Tennessee. We have family that happens to have a house in the path of totality.
Anyone else have plans?
PS: Buy your eclipse glasses now--not later!

Poll for the day.
But seriously, shut me down if I'm breaking protocol here.

You'll probably be able to read all of Sanderson's Cosmere before Winds of Winter comes out

Personally, ever since 2015, I've been in a fantasy binge waiting around for GRRM to finish The Winds of Winter. (The TV show has been dead to me since season 5). I started The Wheel of Time, expecting GRRM to finish TWOW before I finished WoT, but it appears, not only will I finish WoT, but I might even be able to read Stormlight Archive too.
It was ASOIAF that got me started, though. I brows the /r/asoiaf subreddit a lot.
Anyone else a fan?

I enjoyed reading every Taravangian POV, as much as it angered me as well.
