I don’t think I’ve given these any thought for almost 15 years.

Surprised I’m the only one who thinks the guy who does martial arts and shit takes this one. I think Zuck would probably murder Elon if not for the referee.

I looked at it this way:
If I earn $2000 and my mortgage is $1000, then my mortgage is 50% of my paycheck.
If my paycheck is $2000 and my mortgage is now $500, my mortgage is now only 25% of my paycheck.
However, if my paycheck is $3000 and my mortgage remains $1000, my mortgage is 33% of my paycheck.
This is how I justified the 50% off choice.
-
I took this to mean I can choose between earning 50% more or everything I buy is 50% off. If that’s the case, the latter seems like the mathematically correct choice, no?

I am stronger now than I was then, but 18-year-old me had been playing contact sports for the last decade and was accustomed to some violence.

I could do some damage with an extra 52k every year. Giving me 156k worth of stuff over that same time period will just turn me into a hoarder.

I do, in fairness, grant credence to the idea that it’s important to stretch your brain in new ways to learn how to solve problems via different methods. In the same way that I would emphasize the need for STEM students to take philosophy or (more ideally) literature and history courses, it’s good that we make kids more interested in the humanities take stuff like trig and pre-calculus at the very least.
