  1. Why wouldn't you count anime but count shows like The Simpsons and possibly everything else that falls into that category such as Rick and Morty, Family Guy, American, etc.? That doesn't make sense. Anime shows are, in fact, TV shows.

    Römerbrücke in Trier

The oldest bridge in Germany although not all parts of the bridge share the same age. It has been destroyed several times before, mostly in wars. Strangely enough though, it wasn't destroyed in WWII although German troops tended to blow up bridges that might help the enemy get closer into the country. American troops stormed Trier by crossing this bridge. It was - as far as I know - the only one the nazis spared. The street on top of the bridge is from 1931. What really makes it the oldest bridge in Germany are the pillars though because they were built between 142 and 150 AC.

Surprised I'm still on these charts. Hopefully the next war will kick my ass back into activity :)

There was no war since Trail of Tiers that could've kicked you off the list...

Because there was no war at all. :P

I am a regular listener of a podcast by Stephen Dubner called Freakonomics (author of a book by the same name).  The podcast is a hybrid of behavioral economics, psychology, and sociology.  Recently, they ran an episode literally named "Why Don't We Speak the Same Language."  I figure you might enjoy and could give you experts and resources to pursue further insight.  You can stream the episode, download it, or read the transcript at the link.  The follow on episode explores the thought of which language should we all speak?

I usually don't like listening to podcasts but I have downloaded the episode and will listen to it as soon as I feel like it. Thank you :)

  5. Well yes, I have thought about these things before and whenever the questions pops into my mind, I try to surpress the thought. I probably shouldn't feel that way but thinking about life makes me think of my future and I'm not sure if what I'm doing with my life (like what I'm studying and all the other stuff) is right and therefore the thought what lies ahead kind of scares me.

What always really amazes me are languages. The thought of people developing these complex language systems over centuries and how different they can be. I mean, why do we speak the way we speak? Why do some tribes in Africa make clicking sounds when they speak? How did that come about? Why don't we all speak the same way? I don't mean the same language but what we use in our mouth while we speak. Why do in people in one language produce a certain sound that is totally weird to others? And how does someone come up with clicking sounds or another sound and how does it catch on? How did one thought in our head turn into the word that we call "tree" or "cat" or "home"? I know all of these words used to be different but if you go waaaay back in time, how did people come up with the original? That really fascinates me but I will never be able to have a definite answer for this.

  6. I do like the Summer to some extent when the temperatures don't get too hot. We had several weeks this year though that were 30 degrees celsius minimum. With that in mind I guess I like the fall much better.

  7. Well you could also ask why the yellow ranger is Asian and the red ranger is native American because Asians are not yellow and native Americans are not red (and of course caucasians are not really pink as well but in that case this categorization is not based on racism). :)

Which raises the question: What is the blue ranger? White?

More than 85% construction companies have Australian or British engineers. It's either one of em who built this building.

    TEXT REMOVED

My family is been in Dubai for more than 37 years. I know it better. What it was. How it got where it is now.

I don't need this kind of racism. I was referring to the "Arabs" as the people who wanted the building to be built, not the ones who actually built it with their hands.

    1. Didn't want to do the first one. Too much clicking.

    2. 10/10 in 30 seconds.

    3. 49/49 in 6:21

    4. 24/31 in 1:52 (maybe I should've thought a bit more about it :v)
