But can anyone decode this for me?  It's like the Matrix...

I'm sure it's super funny or ironic or cool or scary or dumb or something.  I'm just not sure how to feel about it.  :(

Me and my hacker friends known as 4chan can use s0per advance hacking technique to decrypt that message. Gimme a moment

Annnndddd done. Here's the decrypted message. No need to thank us.

  2. Update 5 (part 1): The interlude

With that disaster of a battle done with, the company went back to the nearest town to hire more men to replace the one that dies and to build up a strong reserve force so people can be substitute in and out if they get injured. Meet the new recruits

    CTEU5U3.png

Cannon Fodder 1 and 2 will be the frontliner for now until we decide what to do with brain-damaged Micchan and broken knee Sargun

    IpcOQ1X.png

    8fZRTSa.png

Shitty hunter is shitty because despite having a hunter background, his range skill suck ass. Nevertheless, Shitty Hunter will be replacing Japan while Temp Marksman will either become a reserve archer or be put into the frontline depending on what happens

Which bring us to a few important decisions.

    1) Should Micchan and Sargun take an early retirement?

I normally keep people if their permanent injury doesn't affect their role that much (e.g. Saintly Bloody is missing an eye which reduces his range skill but he'll never touch a bow anyway). However, the injuries both of them took are pretty bad. The choice is either kick them out dismiss them with pension and replace them with people from the reserve or keep them until they die in the field of battle

    2) What should the new recruits be named?

Obviously, their names are a placeholder for now. I ran out of names for people so I'll need more names (and title) to give to the 4 new recruits. This time, it could be any kind of names you want, go nuts. Just remember that both the name and title box have a 14 letters character limit (space included). If I still don't have enough names then I'll simply keep using other TKR members name to throw into the meat grinder

And lastly, during the journey back to the town, the mercenary company met a rather interesting person.

An ominous threat of what's to come or a baseless rumor from a madman? Who knows...

Why am I in reserve? I coulda won that battle meself.

Ignore that i broke my something last time

or won the battle by being a heroic cannon fodder, dying to give others time to kill the enemy ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

iirc, in one of the previous battle, you got stabbed and have a hole in your lung or smth so you were on reserve for injury recovery

  4. Most of the books I read before are not included in the poll. Here's a list of some of them, anything with a * symbol on it are stuff I have to read for high-school

    • Watership Down
    • Lord of the Flies
    • Of Mice and Men*
    • Great Gatsby* (I'm pretty sure most of us are forced to read this for school)
    • Picture of Dorian Grey*
    • War of the Worlds
    • L’Étranger* (Thai version)

  5. Unfortunately, no notable ancient bridges in Thailand. So have some modern one.

I was quite surprised that so few died

Yeah quite amazed myself. Usually, when a character reached 0 hp, they have a very small chance to be struck down but survive the battle instead of outright dying. However, I might end up kicking out send them to retirement with pension since the permanent injury they received is a pretty big deal

That or keep sending them into even more dangerous battle so they can die gloriously and I have an excuse to replace them. Either way works

  7. Update 4: The part where a lot of people die

Before we begin, i'll tell you right now that by the end of this, quite a lot of people died. So ladies and gentlemen, start taking bets now on who perished.

Alright first of all, remember last time  when Awesomeness got (nearly) killed and suffered from a dislocated shoulder? Well, he got... sort of... replaced. So welcome our new recruit, Awesomeness! (again)

    9Dw1Vgj.png

Anyhow, onto the main part of the update. I'm afraid the first parts or so are pretty unevenful, consisting of the company going around doing odd errands without any major injuries or death

Some of the (a bit boring) stuff we did

    Spoiler

    • Picked up a contract to retrieve a stolen artifact, then instantly decide to betray our employer for sweet cash

    NaD5vLf.jpg       zJQpgoX.jpg?1

    • Also went around to retrieve more stuff from sp00ky crypt. With jobs like this, i would usually just pick up the thing and run away. However, due to the swampy nature of the battlefield, retreating without getting caught by skeletons is impossible

    oNsAUN9.jpg?1    HZzDV5E.jpg

    • Killed an army worth of brigands (and a few doggos as well)

    CWU34A4.jpg     LPaU5CO.jpggz4mHK1.jpg   v1SOMON.jpg

Apart from the battles, the frontline got shuffled a bit with people moving to and from the reserve. The next contract we got was to retrieve stuff from a crypt again (seriously, why the hell do people keep losing their valuable in the crypts?) . Sound easy enough right? just stroll in, bash in some doot doot skeletons (or zombies) and we're done. Well...

    DJLW5Rp.jpg                                    JGYSRXf.gif

Necrosavants are basically vampires but instead of sexy gay twilight vampire, you get a half rotten undead pagan cultist. I dealt with them once before and oh boy was that a disaster. They heal by making everyone bleed, are hard to kill and worst of all, can teleport around willy nilly. To make matter worst, we have to deal with skeletons at the same time. I pretty much went into the fight expecting several people to die and oh boy they did.

    Spoiler

    TKR vs necrosavants and skeledoots

    Spoiler

    Nh9aYqr.jpg

At the start, everyone was ordered to form a (quite shitty) circle formation with the bannerman, backrow polearm and archers in the middle and shieldbearers on the outside. The plan was to have most of the shield people keep the skeletons occupied while the rest stay in the back to deal with necrosavants once they decide to bs teleport into the backline.

The plan sounds good in theory but fell apart real fast due to not having enough shieldbearers as half of them are busy dealing with skeletons. One of the necrosavant teleported right next to Japan while the other decided to help out his doot buddy.

    ObcU1RG.jpg

Apparently, having to deal with skeletons and teleporting vampires  pretty terrifying. Despite Deus's best effort to keep everyone from shitting their pants and routing, Sargun (guy on the upper side of the battlefield with the striped shield and axe) who was dealing with several skeletons with Saintly Bloody (left of Sargun) started to run away.

He managed to escape from the skeletons (which is great) and would've gotten away if not for the necrosavant who decided to teleport and bite a chunk out of him before Schrimanator and Floating Hippo can get there

    pdFodfQ.jpg?1

Meanwhile, the other necrosavant decided to say hello to Japan, Micchan and Kayser. Despite their best effort, Micchan was heavily injuried and Japan eventually falls after taking a big slice to the guts. Unlike last time, the slice was fatal.

    c4Hefex.jpg?1

It's pretty easy to guess what happens next! With Kosonome fleeing, the necrosavant that killed Japan teleported right in front of Kosonome and killed him too. Meanwhile, the other necrosavant decided that Nizam Adrienne looks tasty and teleported in front of her

    Hrv98TB.jpg?1      1ED1FUg.jpg?1

Thankfully, that necrosavant was driven away from Adrienne... but teleported right back to Micchan. Already quite injured from failing to keep Japan alive, Micchan took a nasty blow to the head.

    qeTz3gF.jpg?1

After some chasing around, the necrosavants was finally dealt with and the last skeleton crumbled to the ground. But hey, everything have a silver lining. Despite 4 people falling in battle, Sargun and Micchan managed survived somehow. However, in exchange for not dying, they both gain a permanent injury

    MyaUkXc.jpg

3zb7M8b.jpg?1 Micchan is now permanently brain damaged

hCNCiyP.jpg?1 Meanwhile, Sargun broke his knee from the whole ordeal which will never fully recovers

And rip, Japan and Kosonome died and will now be resting in an undead crypt under a pile of bones, condemned to suffer forever from the sound of doot doot skeletals

That's quite an adventure. One of the person in reserve will need to replace Koso for now while we'll definitely need to find a new recruit to take on Japan's crossbow. As for Micchan and Sargun, they might have to... retire early and be replaced due to their newly gain permanent injury being extremely detrimental to their combat role.

Is that a fusion from Dragon Ball between anime girl and cat?

    What's her power level?

Power level of cat wolfgirl. The strongest power level of them all

Actually, no idea. I have tons of random pics and gifs bookmarked. I think this one is Holo from Spice and Wolf from a long time ago. Other than that, can't remember anything else

    Hopefully

The good new is that you didn't die so congrats!

The bad new is that you nearly die and might get dismissed and replaced! Broken elbow tanks melee attack and defense stat which is what shieldbearer are suppose to do. Though if you do get replaced, I'll name the replacement after you.

mmm, I still haven't mess around with character customization yet (you need to find a town with a barber apparently). Thinking whether or not I should take Micchan's beard away or let her have a full on bushy beard. Decision, decision.

  10. Update 3: Easy money... or not

The update in which the company went around hunting down small bands of monsters for some easy cash. For the first half of this update, it's pretty uneventful except for the part where Saintly Bloody faceplanted the ground while drunk and broke his nose so Hippo, who recovered from his near death experience, replaced him while he recovers

    Series of uneventful battles

    Spoiler

    TKR vs even more orcs

TKR vs ghouls, zombies and sp00ky shit

    XRf90WW.jpg3uxNQ8z.jpg

    Spoiler

Anyhow, we finally grabbed a contract. This time, we'll be task with retrieving some ancient artifact from a nearby ruin.

    YxkKAQW.jpg?17uoNoiH.jpg

Went in, managed to grabbed the artifact. Met some pissed skeleton people.

    X3Ceqpo.jpg

However, we were paid only to retrieve the artifact and not fight sp00ky skeleton. Seeing as Micchan somehow managed to grab the artifact beforehand, the whole group ran away retreated strategically before the skeletons caught up to us. Well, that's some pretty easy money

The part where things kinda went wrong

    Spoiler

New contract! This time, we'll be hired to patrol the road between towns and kill anyone that's in the way. We'll be paid by how many people we killed

    YQTUQ9g.jpgdvx1UAK.jpg?1

Met a large groups of brigand so being a coward strategic genius I am, the brigand group was lured to a nearby friendly patrol and taken care of. This happened twice in a row.

    PY84aNZ.jpg?1CMNDn15.jpg

    Spoiler

Nearing the last town in our patrol route, a small group of brigands was spotted. Hey, more easy cash. The group is compose of dogs, crossbowmen and only a single melee soldiers. This should be easy. We'll just have to close in quickly, take down the axeman, dogs then close in on the crossbowmen...

    gcxsNJR.jpg

    iCGoEdM.jpg    lsDj9tO.jpg

    WELL THEN

The good news is that the strikes that took down Japan and Awsomness are non-fatal so they get to live another day. The bad news is that they each gain a permanent injuries as a result of it. Japan became traumatized from being nearly killed while Awsomness suffered from a broken elbow joint. While Japan's permanent injury is pretty trivial due to his crossbowman role, Awesomeness's injury is very detrimental to his shieldbearer's role.

Other than that, Hydraik suffered from a pierced hand but that wound will heal with time
