No. That's a smart move. If you want to change something in the world, you first have to talk to receptive ears. They knew that not only Bernie, but also his supporters would actually listen to what they had to say. They didn't defer, they listened. While I agree they could have done it differently, I don't think what they did was bad. They have a right to protest, and Bernie willingly gave them the mic. As opposed to them getting beat up at a trump rally. While both will gather attention, one spreads your message, and the other spreads anger. Now that Bernie has backed what they want him to, thy moved on to bigger targets like trump, but they had to start somewhere. It's similar to the greenpeace volunteer who confronted Hillary about campaign contributions from oil companies. Everyone knows that she will likely move America toward more sustainable energy if elected, they just want to make sure.

Just to clarify first, I am a sanders supporter. However, the reason they protested at a sanders rally was to get him to pay more attention to the issues that are important to them. They know they aren't going to change trump, so they try to change those on the same side. If you look at sanders stump before and after the incident in Seattle, you can tell that it impacted him.
