Then again, in the obituary I posted, half of the people who died are backline people so who knows what'll happen

Poop. Guess there is more of an even chance for everyone to die then :/

  2. Yeah, the thing about languages that kind of amazes me is how we are able to take a series of electric pulses between pieces of the lumps of meat in our head, interpret that as an idea and then pass that idea through mouth noises set up in such a way that someone who knows the code can interpret it as their own series of electric pulses between the lumps of meat in their head.

I mean looking at it from a wider perspective. Language derives meaning because people give it meaning right? Unless you're clued in the mouth noises someone makes to you might as well be as meaningful as the sound of a fart. But certain mouth noises can make people cry of happiness or terror and the fart sound is funny or grosses us out.

  3. I'm making this post kinda on a whim, but this question came to me and I want to see what you guys think. Have you ever taken some time to just think about life and the world we live in and consider just how amazing and terrifying some of the things humans have done. I mean, we are able to use a lump of mean in our heads to come up with (supposedly) individual thoughts and then translate those thoughts through other lumps of meat and connective tissue in order to physically change the reality that we're in.

Schizoid isn't schizophrenia...sorry to burst your bubble...also, the test is as reliable as a doctor in an American hospital.

Mental illnesses cross over a lot, and are perhaps the most complex...maybe Severe Depression can be easily proven through an online test, but you still could have bipolar disorder or something else in conjunction with it.

Huh, didn't know that before I took that test and read the description. Thanks for correcting me.

  5. Good and evil are ideas that humans made up. They are subjective and because there is no such thing as universal morality. There is only a consensus that a bunch of humans have generally agreed to, with variations depending on your human cluster of choice. Humans are flawed and so shouldn't really be the basis for a moral code, much less a bunch of humans.

If we're using the general consensus as the measuring stick, you'd have to wade through all of the scientific papers relating to nature or nurture. A lot of which are conflicting. If any consensus can be derived from those and rule out any outliers, it is that humans are born with certain predispositions and character traits just like they are born with certain physical traits they grow into. The environment they experience as they develop does effect the way some of these traits develop and can, in the end produce a wide variety of results.

    tldr: they can be both
